Hi Blake. I think many of us who have made or are in the midst of making the leap from windows to mac have felt this frustration of windows being more productive than mac. The learning curve is not a curve, it's straight up, smile.
While I can't give you a lot of skype assistance, since I too do not see the status of folks in my contact list, I can tell you that it's worth hanging in with your mac. I hope someone on this great list can tell us both why we do not see the online status of our contacts, but in the interim, just take this all one day at a time. I'm getting there and you will, too.
