I never thought is was degrading.

still, I am only starting to adapt to life in the total zone.

here is a real funny one. an old customer at the store I used to work in came 
up and told me he was sorry that I was now totally blind. I had to stop and 
seriously ask him why. in all honesty, he had no answer. So, I told him, "do 
not feel sorry for me, but allow me the dignity to be a person"  my feeling is 
that I did not ask for this sympathy and I don't want it. just treat me as a 
person and ignore the disability. thats pretty much all I ask.
