While attempting to reproduce Ricardo's problem I discovered that I can not
figure out how to record from the built-in mic on my MBP.

I see my built in internal microphone under system preferences -> sound ->
input but can only adjust the input volume and whether I want: to check the box
labeled: "Use ambient noise reduction".

I then hijacked and recorded system audio, but only system sounds were
recorded. According to a recent post by Allison Manzino, this worked on her
machine? I could not locate a "sound flower" setting anywhere. I also perused
all the preferences and options within AudioHijack, but couldn't locate
anything that seemed obviously applicable.

TIA for any/all suggestions.

Geoff
