The hot spots are automatically saved, until you either replace them or get rid 
of them. Unfortunately, you can only have up to 10 hot spots, from numbers 1 
through 0. That's Apple's design. The hot spots are only active if the program 
associated with them is open because it's a quick way of returning to an area 
of the program, or a quick way of monitoring something within a program, such 
as a progress indicator. Remember, you can press vo-hot spot number twice to 
bring up your hot spot chooser menu to see which ones you haven't used in a 
while.
