I'd have to concur. Standard RTF files should not have garbage in them. I'm going to assume then that you are not opening these in Microsoft WOrd and saving them again? I cannot think of any other reason why you would have garbage in your files unless it was opened in a different program. I can't imagine any other reason and seems odd there would be a problem with conversion if opening in Text Edit. Very interesting.
