I type in a rather odd way, something like a pianist playing arpeggios with
his/her left hand. I start on the normal left hand posision then slide the
hand over the keyboard where it's neaded. Probably not good for the wrist,
but no way I'm paying 6 or $700 for the "half qwerty" keyboards available.

Subject: Re: Regarding one-handed opperation of a mac
These sound like good ways to navigate a Mac with one hand. What is the
best way to type with one hand? I don't need this, but I'm curious in
case I need to train somebody who only has the use of one hand and wantss
to use a Mac.

Hello Brandt,
I know someone who manages to use his Mac one handed, not because he has
any problems using two, but because he likes to have one hand free for
coffee, the phone, or whatever.
The best way to achieve this is to use the Keyboard commander to perform
commands that normally require two hands. If the MacBook you borrow has
the multi-touch trackpad, you'll also be able to use gestures. Then, if
you get an external numpad, there's the Numpad commander, too.
So, between all these commanders, you should be able to configure the
MacBook to work one-handed. Oh yes, and the Mac has Sticky Keys, too.
Cheers,
Anne

Hi there folks,

Due to a stroak I lost most of the use of my rite hand, in fact
opperating most everything one handed. I know how to use sticky keys in
windows, but would like more details on the subject matter before
getting the macbook.
