Hi Chris and all:
Just took another look at the Activity Monitor and VoiceOVer is running at
about 9 and 11 % and has 20 threads running. The number of threads seem to be
based on how many windows are open at once. I conducted the following test. I
have three programs running at the moment; Mail, Activity Monitor, and
finder plus other services which are running in the background. The number of
threads that VoiceOver is using at the moment is 20. In Mail I did a
Shift+Command+a to open the address panel and took another look at the Activity
Monitor. The number of threads increased to 21. So the results I am seeing here
seem to show that a VoiceOver thread is opened for every window opened on the
system. This makes sense since VoiceOver has to interact with every window that
is presented by an application.
