Now I must thank you, I understood where to connect this darn vga
adapter which I bought and never found the place before you clarifies.

Hello Georges,
I will try to answer both questions.
1. Apple's branded version of the adapter required to connect your Mac
Mini to a VGA monitor is called a "Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter" and
here in the US it has a part number of MB572Z/A. I imagine there are
other brands available, and I'm not sure what the part number might be
outside of the US. Here is a direct link to this adapter in the US
Apple Store online: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB572Z/A
2. Here is a description of the ports on the back of the current mini
model (also known as the Mid 2010 model). As you've already mentioned
the jack for the loudspeakers, also known as the Audio Out port, is the
leftmost port. Following your lead, I will list the ports on the back
of the current model Mac Mini from left to right as you are looking at
the Mini from the front, not the back.
1. At the very left you have the aforementioned Audio Out port and
immediately to it's right is the Audio in port.
2. Above both of those ports is the SD memory card slot.
3, Moving right from the SD card slot you will find the 4 USB ports you
mentioned.
4. The next port is the Mini DisplayPort which is where you would plug
in the VGA adapter mentioned above.
5. The next port is the HDMI port, and this is where the included HDMI
to DVI adapter fits for those folks who want to connect a monitor with
a DVI port.
6. The next port is a FireWire 800 port. If you're not familiar with
Firewire, you can google the term for tons of information.
7. The next port is a standard Ethernet RJ-45 port for connecting to a
wired network.
8. The next port is, of course, the power connector followed by the
power on / off button.
9. Finally, the wide slot under the other ports is actually just a slot
to allow for hot air exhaust. You can feel and hear warm air blowing
out of this slot when your Mini gets hot enough inside.
HTH,
Bryan

Ok now I made the setup without a screen but I agree totally on what
both of you said that I need not only the adapter that came with the
mini but the screen as well. I tried the adapter it fit somewhere in
the mini but on the other end it did not fit in the vga display I have,
here I wonder what is the adapter I should get to fit in this old screen?
Can anybody tell me the names of the connectors from left to right? I
know the most left one is for the loudspeakers and of course I
recognise the 4 usb ports but the other connectors are strange to me,
especially that wide slot under them.
