Hello Christopher, For some reason, I always thought one could completely reset all preferences on a Mac by deleting the preferences folder.
Now keep in mind that I came by this idea back when OS 8 was the big thing. So, in no way am I suggesting that you do this but I'm hoping that more experienced users on the list will either confirm or correct this notion.
