As others have pointed out, Vista was a flop with both performance and quality issues. So both users and vendors will be loathe to help with any problems on Vista. Vista peaked at about 19% market share and, depending on whose numbers you use, is around 9% as of July. I believe Bootcamp 4.0 (OSX Lion) drops support for Windows Vista and Bootcamp 3.2 dropped support for Vista 64-bit. This is not a horse you want to hook your cart to. A Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade is about $120 from most major retailers. Probably worth your long-term sanity to save up for that. I did find a coupon for 20% off at staples here:

So if that works it would bring the cost below $100, at least through August 20. I'm sure there are other deals floating about.

Why go with Vista, use windows 7, it's much improved over Vista, Vista will offer you no advantage.

Okay,

After literally years of resisting installing windows Vista on my Mac, I am seriously considering actually breaking down, admitting defeat in an effort to rescue a windows lap top and actually installing windows Vista on my Mac book Pro. Frankly, I feel like a traitor even thinking about doing that. IF in fact I do this, I'm would use JAWS in it's lap top configuration. Is there any special circumstance I need to look for under Lion while doing this? I mean like assuming I get everything installed correctly. Thanks.
