They must have fixed it with th new ones, because my new mini server version
is working fine without a monitor./

    No, this won't work alone.  You'll need the converter box I mentioned,
but instead of the htmi adaptor, you will need a VGA adaptor.  At least,
this is the set up that is working for me.
