OK, this is quite strange. I'm trying to search through my unified inbox in Mail under Lion. I have 4 accounts all total set up. I don't have View by conversation turned on either, don't know if that really would matter, but... So in the list of mailboxes, both in the classic view, and in the new Lion layout, I'm set just on the over all main inbox for all accounts.

Now, if I go up to the top of the screen, interact with the toolbar, then go all the way to the end where the search box is, say I have an e-mail from my mother... Sylvia Gilland...

So, in the search box, I type: "Sylvia," obviously without the quotes. As I am typing, I hear containing and it sounds like a menu popping up. If I, after typing Sylvia, press down arrow, I get nowhere. This is with quick nav turned off. I didn't say vo+down, I said, just down. If I press vo+space, I hear: Sylvia highlighted. Vo up down, left and right yields nothing. The only thing I've not yet tried is as soon as I hear that contains whatever thing, I've not tried immediately interacting. Wonder if that's the trick. Anyway, after typing, say in this example... Sylvia, I've tried hitting return as well. Once I go over and look at the message table, I see absolutely no results, when before searching, in my inbox I know from looking, that there were about 3 or 4 messages in there from Sylvia. So, I know for a fact, something's not working. I dono if it's me just not knowing what I'm doing, which is most likely the case, or if something in either Voiceover, or in Mail has glitched. I know when I had that issue with my fan overheating I did as you all probably remember, disable indexing with Spotlight, but, one of my friends also disabled spotlight, and his was working past that point, although now, neither of our system's'll find mail within the Mail app from the toolbar search box. So both him and I are extremely perplexed. this! is really bizarre! I figure there's, gotta be something! we're both doing wrong. the question's what?

Thanks for any help.

Chris.
