Hi Chris! Well I don't know if this will work in Lion! And someone else has the same sort of problem as you! And they also are using Lion! But from your description it looks like the only thing you did not try is after typing your search criteria [ And this is what I do in SL] is to stop interacting with the tool bar and thats when I get the options to narrow the search to [from, subject, whole message and others] then at the end is the table of results! Now in SL I do not know if there is a faster way but that is the way I've learned to do it! And if it works for you then alls good! Colin
