I got a program called Louis that you can translate brf files with. It was 
given to me, so I can't tell you how to get it. I haven't tried it yet, but I 
heard works ok. Now as to reading brf files directly, I got TextEdit to call up 
the files with command-o. Then I was asked what program I wanted from now on to 
open the brf files with. Unfortunately, there is no computer mbraille option 
(please I hope there will be someday, and I am crossing my fingers for one.) 
So, you can't read directly with a braille display brf files with VoiceOver. 
People have been talking about the VO keys, but I'd settle for a computer 
braille option first. Just my wants, mind you. Actually, I really need one.
