Another great resource to consult is the Getting Started With VoiceOver  guide. 
In addition to VoiceOver commands, it explains many Mac basics, and it is 
organized into specific sections to help you with general navigation and more 
specific tasks such as working with Mail or Safari.  If you are an iPhone or 
iPod user, go to chapter 11 and read about the gestures for trackpad commander 
which are very similar to the touch screen devices.  You will find a link to 
the guide at the bottom of the VO help menu (ctrl + option+ H).
