Well, I guess to be more accurate death metal and autotune scare me. There are 
still some good songs out there, but they're
few and far between compared to the 80's.

New music scares you?  I'm sure if you look hard enough you can find some 
pretty scary music from the 70s and 80s.  Black
Sabbath's "electric Funeral" definitely does not remind me of sugar plum 
ferries. :)
