Let me give you my best answer, but it may not enough for you. I have this Bluetooth headset is independent of the computer because it has its own Bluetooth receiver which plugs into the computer's earphone jack. You can hear anything because of that. Mine is a Plantronic headset. However, it was not cheap. It was $100. I live in Texas, so I don't know where you are and how that would compare.
