Hi Paul, Try holding down your VO keys while going down the Go menu items.
Your assumption is sort of correct. The problem arises when attempting to open a document that has been changed into the iOS version. This version is not accessible to the Mac unless you translate it back using the iTunes method and saving it to your Mac. The process is more or less seamless if you go from iDevice to iDevice or from Mac to Mac. From Mac to iDevice is not too difficult but a little more cumbersome when going from iDevice to Mac.
