firefox doesn't work with VO at all. about the most you can expect is access to the pulldown menus. the scroll area just says "scroll area" and VO will not read anything displayed there. my last go around with FF was 5 months ago and it was not usable for me at all.
as for Safari, I use the developer version called webkit. it has more features than standard Safari. One of those features is the ability to open links in separate tabs (which regular Safari can't seem to do).
