Thunderbird is built on the some of the same codebase as Firefox so it
is also not accessible with voiceover. That also implies that fixing
Firefox should do wonders for Thunderbird.

firefox doesn't work with VO at all. about the most you can expect is access to the
pulldown menus. the scroll area just says "scroll area" and VO will not read
anything displayed there. my last go around with FF was 5 months ago and it was not
usable for me at all.
as for Safari, I use the developer version called webkit. it has more features
than standard Safari. One of those features is the ability to open links in
separate tabs (which regular Safari can't seem to do).
One last point, it seems that mozilla thunderbird is equally as inaccessible as
the FF browser. this pretty much limits what I can use on OS X. still, mail.app
works fairly well without too many hitches.

There are some websites that work better for sighted Mac users with
Firefox than they do with Safari. I have very limited experience
using FF BUT FEEL IT DOESN't respond to VO very well. Are there
different VO commands for FF I need to learn? Does Firefox work well
with VO?
