My situation is somewhat different. I live in Austria and have lived there for over 35 years. I am just visiting family and friends in the States now. Thus far, I have been able to get everything I wanted from the Austrian App store.
However, since I am physically present in the States right now, I have to intentionally load the Austrian App store before making purchases. My Mac automatically loads the US store since I am here right now.
