Since iPads have no moving parts (other than a couple buttons) they are much more durable than the laptops of yore. The main issue is dropping it so it lands on it's corner on something hard, like concrete. You can't put much over the screen as the capacitive touch display would stop working. So maybe something like iballz would do the trick:

They are basically rubber balls that slip over each corner of the ipad. Apparently some schools use these with kids. They also have a special case you can wrap around your iPad while leaving the balls in place.

true.... something to consider.

just going back to the days of the older powerbook laptops like the G3 pismo,
etc, built like tanks yet easy to service and upgrade. lol

I couldn't see Apple changing their design standards for something like this.
But, I bet someone has probably come out with a rugged iPad case?

Hey guys.

it's me..... again...... lol

first off... colour software discussed yesterday has helped a heck of a lot.

Secondly and my main point on this.... TADA!

Wouldn't it be nice if apple could build a rugged version of the iPad? for
someone like me working in heavy environments such as dusty sites or areas
where grease, etc can be a problem, if apple could design a beefed up version?

on the same point, a rugged version of the macbook pro.

if anyone's ever dealt with Dell's pro series industrial laptops, sony's tough
systems and Panasonic's Toughbooks, then it's a pretty reasonable standpoint...

OK it's not an accessibility based issue as such but just a good idea.

lol

cheers guys.
