Hello Bill.

I have just had one thought as you talk about your serial number.

Some months ago, I installed a new virtual machine running windows 7 (bearing
in mind) that I had installed the same operating system many times since I
bought this retail version in 2010 when I was in the USA.

So when I re-installed the same again, I could not register it and had to call
Microsoft Automated system to get my code reset. The reason for me to tell you
this was I could not install the VMware tools until the machine was properly
registered again. Hope you are not having the same issue.

Kawal.
