Hmm,  Not all daisy books use MP3, and I am not sure I have one here.  In any 
case, this script would be easier in perl or perhaps Python. AppleScript is 
quite good at telling applications what to do, but your requirements are 
reeallyi to manipulate filenames and perhaps files too. 

Curious,  are you going to attempt to manipulate the SMIL files to match the 
new file names?
