Yep, go to your gmail account on the web and delet all your messages by hand, screen by agonizing screen. It's what I had to do, finally.
things in my mail world still aren't acting as they used to, but are more normal then before. also, make sure you read that good article robert Carter sent awhile back-I dug through the archives for it, but it did help some as well as what I said above about actually going to the web part of google and doing the deletion by hand. If you have a lot of messages, things just might be stuck somehow.
