Go to system preferences, keyboard, and the  keyboard shortcuts tab.
In the shortcuts categories table, choose mission control.
Then vo right arrow to the applications table and choose "show notification 
center." Make sure the box is checked, and you
have an edit box to type in whatever shortcut you want. I personally use 
control+command+N.
