Hi Donna,
Have you tried changing your login screen from a list of users to just the
user name and password boxes?
I don't think how this would afect VoiceOver, but then, stranger things have
happened.
It does look more and more like a new installation is needed.

Hi Chris,

That's one of the weird things.  Pressing those keys does absolutely
nothing.  I'd say it was like the keyboard doesn't work, except that I am
able to interact with the user list, select myself, and enter my password.
