That's what I thought as surely Bootcamp creates the necessary stuff so
that Windows can be installed and booted.

Is the Mac unable to boot from certain drives? I've used this DVD drive on
other computers and it works just fine. I can't use my Mac's internal drive
because it keeps ejecting disks, so I can't verify that the DVD's I'm trying to
use will work natively. I'm including the details from System Information below
incase it'll be of any help:
