Since upgrading to ML, I have paid some bills with my on-line banking site with no problems whatsoever. Today, though I was able to log on successfully multiple times, as soon as I attempted to do *anything* on the site, I was thrown off, and a "problem report" came up. When I tried to quit out of Safari and go back in again, there was the banking site, with the log-in page, waiting for my information again. I first closed all windows and tried again. No luck. I rebooted and tried again. No luck. I called my bank to ensure that no one besides me was attempting to log in. They said my log-ins were being recorded, and that only one IP address was recorded. Phew! I was then told to go in Security, uncheck Java script, but check Java, and uncheck "allow plug-ins". Then I was told to go to "empty cache" -- but I could not find this animal. The bank's tech rep said it should be the seventh choice down in the Safari menu, but I did not find it. The only thing I could find was "clear history" -- but could not find cookies, or clearing cache, etc., When I logged onto the account on my husband's Mac, all went fine. But no such luck on mine. What is going on? Any ideas? Is it okay to leave the Java, java script, and plug-ins as suggested by the bank rep, or should I return to default settings to avoid problems on other sites?
