Hi Jeff,
Thanks for this tip. I learned about this option on a call to Apple
support a few weeks ago. I tried changing the permissions there rather then in
System Preferences I tried several different times and for the longest time
didn't see any success. I still don't have most of the files sharing correctly
but one folder on one computer, the Downloads folder, did start to show up as a
separate volume and I could share with it. still the same folder in the shared
HD folder says "No Permission To Read." and it will not open.
Do you have a large user folder shared that is working for all sub folders
including downloads, music, movies and such?
In the shared area in the info tab I've changed owner to my user account.
should it be something else? I think I tried Admin and can try that again.
I really appreciate your feedback on this. I have the feeling this powerful
tool is not used by many who would find it helpful. It seems pretty straight
forward in Mountain Lion System Preferences. That is it seems straight forward
but I have only some of the desired files sharing.
