I never personally for this reason turn on quick nav globally on my system.
Now, having said this, I do like setting it up where quicvk nav is on by
default in Safari through an activity, but that leads me to a whole seperet
thread, which I'll post here in a moment, as I'm being presented some issues
with that.
Mainly though, point here I'm trying to make is, knowing me, I would a done
the same thing, and had quick nav turned on, not remembering I'd turned it
on, then I'd be going: hmm. OK, uh, why is this not workin?
Then only, as a last resort, I'd think to check it quick nav was on, and,
sure enough. Then I'd feel really really! stupid. LOL!
Chris.

There you go, I was missing that point. Once I turned Quick Nav off, the
right arrow expanded and the left arrow collapsed.
Thanks guys.

I just expand a thread using the right arrow key. Keep in mind that I'm
using the so-called new or standard view.

Hi everyone.
I am using Mountain Lion, and have a inconsistent issue with expanding
the email thread. Sometimes it works, Other times it does not.
I am using standard view and when in the messages table, interacting
with it of course, and I VO DownArrow to a thread that has multiple
emails, it is initially collapsed. Pressing VO Spacebar should expand
it. But most times it brings up a menu of options for sorting the
message list.
I have to play the VO DownArrow and VO UpArrow game to get it to work.
Usually more than once, before it works correctly.
Anyone else getting this?
Thanks.
Rodney
