Hi all,
My sister's iPad1 won't charge. We tried three wall adapters,
connecting it to a pc and a mac (neither of which registered it was
even connected, though the mac was booted into windows at the time),
and two different usb cables. We even plugged in a cheap iTouch
battery I picked up a while ago, but nothing. The iPad seemed to be
trickle-charging for a while, like it will on iPhone chargers or
low-powered usb ports, but now it isn't even doing that. Oh, and yes,
re did a home/power reset. Apple, Best Buy, and a local computer shop
all say it would be expensive to work on and it wouldn't be worth it,
though Apple did mention a program where you can pay $250 to replace
the unit with a new iPad1 (not a New iPad... what a horrible name!)
So, my question is: can anyone think of anything we haven't tried to
get the iPad working? She uses this as a laptop, and is thinking of
replacing it with an actual laptop if we can't fix the iPad, but we
don't have the money to just run out and buy a MacBook or even a
cheaper Windows laptop. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
