Hi, In Mountain Lion and Lion, there is no need to turn cursor tracking off, VO figures out on its own that you wish non-contiguous selections. In earlier versions of the MacOS, it was necessary to do so. A reminder, though, if you get lost and can't remember which items are selected, press VO-f6 (add the FN key if necessary) and VO will announce the selected items.
