I had that issue, and closed and reopened mail and it started working at
that point.
God, it's just one I O S 6 IPad bug after another. Does Apple not get the
hint? Don't release your stuff until you work out the kinks? This isn't
rocket science!

Subject: Touch keyboard on iPad not working
Hi folks.
I know there are lots of knowledge in here, and I hope there are
someone here who can help me out with the following issue.
I have a friend who have an iPad 3rd gen, wich she updated to iOS6.
After the update, she couldn't write mail, since when she doubletapped
on the text field in the body of the mail, the keyboard popped up, but
it was greyed out.
This only happens when writing mail, and when VoiceOver is turned
on.Any ideas of what that could be, and how this can be solved?
