Well, I'm going to share my adventures in case anyone else tries to reinvent
the wheel. Adobe Editions is very much more accessible than the Nook app for
Mac OS X. The Nook app has accessible controls, but the content is not
readable. This goes for the web interface as well.

I downloaded a purchased book from the Nook website. I was presented with a
dialog on opening the book in Editions that informed me it needed an unlock
code. I had never encountered this unlock code before. after a bit of
frustrating googling, I came across something deep in a forum that pointed out
that the user name is the billing name for Nook, and the unlock code is the
credit card number. The example of the user name in the dialog has an email
address, and this threw me for a loop. However, I entered my full name in the
user name field and the credit card associated with Nook in the unlock code
field, and voila! One opened, beautifully accessible book.

So the upshot is, yes, Nook books are accessible, once you get Nook working
with Adobe Digital editions.

Teresa
