What do you mean directly from the finder? I never knew you could even do that.
Also, for windows users, the menu bar is hidden by default, and refuses to read with jaws when you show it. Every single time I tried to add files to my last ITunes Library, (this was just prior to my totally fresh OS reinstall), ITunes would crash every single time if it was not permitted to add the files themselves to the Library. What about playing files directly from the finder with Itunes 11? Is this possible? Sincerely, The Constantly Barefooted Ray Still a very proud and happy Mac user! On Windows, there's even more tabbing around than there used to be, and that annoys me. Thankfully, however, I use it primarily on the Mac. As far as libraries, yes, it still uses them, although I'm not quite sure why you'd need 2 copies of each file. You can tell iTunes to not place the files in the media folder itself when you copy them to the library, therefore freeing up that drive space you say you lose. I am operating on the assumption that this version of ITunes is still as library dependant as the other versions have been. IF so, it will mean that, when I start rebuilding my audio collection from scratch again, and if this collection consists of files I record myself, I will need to have two copies of each file; one in the original location and the other in my ITunes library. I'd really rather not do that. Clutters up drive space. Sincerely, The Constantly Barefooted Ray Still a very proud and happy Mac user!
