I'd buy the  second generation one to be honest, since it's most likely
cheaper, and you're not losing out on any features, since all 1080P is is
the resolution of the picture.

Just my 2 cents, though.

Third generation is the latest. There's no difference from a Voiceover or
physical design perspective, however, the only thing the latest one can do
is play 1080P content.
