Hi Alex,
It is mostly accessible, but not entirely. In the interface, it is not easy to
click any buttons. You have to route the mouse and then click, so vo command
f5, and then vo shift space to click. But some buttons, like the one that
reads: disable inbound backup, is a hard one. You cannot click it, at least not
to my knowledge, with VoiceOver. This type of button in CrashPlan is kind of a
show stopper. You can read all statuses though, and you have no unlabeled
buttons. Crashplan also has a status menu bar item, which is readable as well.
The worst part is, that you cannot click the settings button, which is one of
those hard ones on the interface. I tried all I could think of, but my wife had
to click it for me. I then landed in the settings dialog, and from there,
everything is accessible.

I emailed support about it, but it didn't sound as if they were willing to
thoroughly check on it at this time. I was told that a hotkey to access
settings, or another fix, would take time, which is reasonable I think. But I
got no answer whatsoever as to how I can use VoiceOver to click settings, if at
all that is possible. Of course, we cannot expect them to test things with
VoiceOver. The woman who corresponded with me at CrashPlan, was my gateway to
the developer. Maybe it would be interesting to try and set up a direct
communication with their developer, and first find out whether or not they are
open to accessibility issues, and to what degree. Usually, if the will is
there, these things can be fixed quite quickly.

But in short Alex, if you read through reviews on the internet, then their
solution is superior in a number of ways. I'd like to back up a few machines,
and their pricing is attractive. Their app is somewhat inaccessible, most
notably in clicking settings which is an important part to set up, but I
wouldn't give up just because of that, as long as you have sighted one-time
help, till they fix this problem in their mac client.
If you decide to go with them and bring to their attention our accessibility
issues, they may want to consider taking a look at them quicker than when I am
their only user asking for accessibility.
Hth,
Paul.
