Hi, you can interact with the table, go to the message, turn trackpad commander off, and then double tap with the trackpad. This will open the message. Although, I'm of a mind, if your checking mail, you will more than likely be responding and composing as well. this obviously, would require a keyboard. In that case, it might be easier to just press enter.
