Hey Donna, I hear the Nest thermostat is very good. I was looking to get. It is made by a gentleman who designed first ipod. I hear that 2nd gen works better than 1st. The 1st had a couple hiccups. It sells for around $250. U.S. if you shop Amazon, I've seen it there. The company apparently has very good support. It is also sold at Apple Stores.
