Hello Jessica,

To shortcut this discussion and get you the information you wanted, I'll tell
you how to quickly find the original post using a search of the Mail Archive
site for this list, and address your comments:
"I did a google search for the site itself and couldn't come up with anything
other than the topic on the list, and couldn't find a link for the site here
after searching through the archive here, unless I've overlooked it.
Have I miseed something?"

1. Either bookmark or create a desktop URL link to the Mail Archive list for
this site:
http://www.mail-archive.com/macvisionaries%40googlegroups.com/

2. At that web page, type a search into the text box and then press return.
In this case I'll used an advanced options that I normally don't use:
blindy.tv -Re

(the hyphen before the "Re" means that I don't want to include any replies in
the search results)

3. As soon as I press return, there are two links on the page, and a short
excerpt from the text of the original message with the date and the poster.
The first link has the post subject:
Blindy.tv - Please spread the word about it

4. Activate that link (VO-Space) and you can read the entire initial post. You
can copy the link address and paste it into your email. On a Mac I use
Command-L to go to the address bar of Safari followed by Command-C to copy.
Then I switch applications to mail with Command-Tab and paste in the URL with
Command-C:

http://www.mail-archive.com/macvisionaries%40googlegroups.com/msg79836.html

5. If you visit that link you can read the original post. On the Mac you can
also read down the thread by pressing Control-N to read the next post in the
thread and Control-P to read the previous post in the thread. On another
operating system and browser substitute the appropriate access key in place of
the Control key. For example, for Internet Explorer on Windows, you can use
Alt-N to read the next message in the thread and Alt-P to read the previous
message.

You can find out more about searching the Mail Archive at their FAQ page:
http://www.mail-archive.com/faq.html#search

Here's another brief summary of the hot keys pasted in from an old post:

The default view displays messages by content in threaded order. You
can switch between threaded order and chronological order with
shortcut keys, and also use shortcut keys to navigate and read the
posts in either mode. Here are the shortcuts for Safari:

Control-n (Next) Later message by thread
Control-p (Previous) Earlier message by thread
Control-f (Forward) Later message by date/time
Control-b (Back) Earlier message by date/time
Control-i (Index) Display chronological (time-ordered) list view
Control-c (Content) Display threaded (content-ordered) list view

These access key shortcuts make it easy to read through posts. Lists
archived at the Mail Archive site can also be searched -- just
navigate to the text box, input your search terms, and press return.

This search feature is much better than using the Google Groups page!

HTH. Cheers,

Esther
