I wonder if it has to do with whether a phone case has a raised border? Mine 
doesn't, but my husband's does and he finds his fingers don't fit so easily  
either. Both of us are getting consistent results though, but it is definitely 
harder to fit your fingers if there is a raised rim around the edge of the 
phone screen.
