I really agree with Alex here.  It has always bugged me when people don't 
include the previous message(s) in their posts.  too often it happens that 
someone writes a post, and I find I want or need to see the full context of the 
conversation in order to understand the point they're trying to make.  this can 
happen for many reasons, coming in late to a particular thread, forgetting or 
not knowing to which message the poster is responding, and so on.

If we think about this in terms of spoken conversation, if someone were to say 
something like, "I think the green one is better", if we don't know what the 
item under consideration is, or what the choices are-green, blue, 
whatever--then we have no way to understand what the person is talking about, 
and their statement just becomes pointless.  

I would actually make the counter request, PLEASE include at least the message 
to which you are immediately replying in your posts.
