Hello Esther and others,
I am writing because I observed in the message that Ester has been having some issues with Audio Book Binder(ABB) . I am not sure if this program is the same app available in the Appstore, but if so, I have not had any issues joining audio books longer than 14 hours. While I will agree that chapter navigation is not possible, it is not a deal-breaker. However, when converting my audio books so as to join them using ABB, I first remove the DRM protection using Tunes4Mac Audio Converter, which can be purchased from http://www.tune4mac.com. The caveat for this software is that audio books should be imported into iTunes, so they can be recognized by the program. With this said, upon launching Tunes4Mac will highly suggest that you do not use iTunes while the conversion takes place. Upon completion the books will be placed in an “audio books” folder within the “documents” folder. These files will be converted into the m4a format. At which time, then you can join the tracks using ABB regardless of the length, as it has been proved in my case. For instance, Moby Dick by Herman Melville is 26 hours as a single track, The Camel Club by David Baldacci is 16 hours, and Bag of Bones by Stephen King is 21 hours. Hope this has been helpful. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
