The edit boxes showing as combo boxes is actually the way that Facebook codes it sites. To be honest with you, I'm not 100% sure how it works, however when you begin typing in that combo box you should be able to simply press the down arrow, with the know whether keys pressed, in order to select your option. I have gotten this to work welts tagging in Facebook, and, identifying a location for checking.
