Maybe try turning down the volume when not in use so it will not announce it to any extent that anyone would be able to hear it that you don't want to hear it? Maybe do the 3 finger double tap to mute speech when not in use and then just quickly unmute it with the same command when you want to hear it? In my opinion worrying about this is just an obsession with privacy that will have you always fighting battles to no end in your life, but to each their own I guess and there are ways around it if one care that much.
