Hi,

With increased access to digital downloadable media, I believe that Apple does 
not believe that the need for built-in CD/DVD drives warrants their inclusion.  
Apple seems to do this sort of thing ahead of the curve.  They stopped putting 
floppy drives into their computers back in the late 90s and others slowly 
followed, but did follow.  Regarding upgradable memory, the new MacBook Pros 
and iMacs have memory that is solder to the board and thus is not upgradable.
