Hello, Hold down control and option, and do a two finger clockwise turn on the track pad. This will turn on the track pad commander. You can now use your track pad like the iPhone. When you want to turn it off, do the same thing, but use a counter clockwise gesture.
As many others have said, you can learn a lot by just exploring and reading the VoiceOver help.
