Chanel,
Are you asking if you should stop using your current MAC and buy a new one
simply because the warranty has expired? Wouldn't that be like buying a new car
simply because the floor mats were dirty, or because the ash trays were full?

Maybe I'm missing the point here.

I find VoiceOver to be a very robust screen reader. I think you will fine
that the only accessibility issues you have will be with specific applications.
About the only area where there seems to be a consensus is in office
productivity. Microsoft office and windows screen readers continue to have a
definite edge there. I am hopeful that this will not always be the case.
VoiceOver is quite powerful as a screen reader and serves its operating system
quite adequately, in my opinion.

      Hi Shannon and Kelly
In my opinion, voiceover is a serious screen reader which is a serious
contender with window was in Jaws. Having said that, I think that it's not
voiceover that's limited, it's the applications which your work with it or
don't, depending on whether of the developer Roos contacted Apple for the
information they needed to make it work. This also assumes that they thought of
us in the first place. There are some blind people these days that have really
no useful windows and Leslie want it. iPhone one could do without it forever.

HI. Yes, I was going to point out how well the mac and Ios devices
integrate with the mac. Not to mention in my oppinion itunes and vo work much
better than itunes and jaws or nvda. I did try to use nvda full time just
before I switched but the tts didn't sound right not when using sapi. I also
think as time goes on there will be more and more accessible programmes for the
mac.
Blessings! Maria Joe and loving guide Karly.

Can this be done? whenever he goes t accessibility/voiceover/braille, it
only sees a "braille edge 0102," and cannot successfully pair. Any ideas?

     Selling my IPhone 4S
      "Chris Gilland" <[email protected]> Apr 07 04:28PM -0400

I have an IPhone 4S black 16GB locked to the AT&T carrier,
non-jailbroken,
and never once has been, which was bought in February of 2011. This hone
is
in 100% tip-top mint condition, not a single scratch or crack on it. It
never even once has ever been dropped. It is running the latest I O S
6.1.3.
I have all the cables, as well as the electrical receptacle charging
cube,
and even still have the original earbuds. Though I love this phone, I
have
upgraded last January to an IPhone 5 black 64GB, so I no longer am in the
need for this phone. I'm asking $200.00. Please note as a few people have
asked me this already, so I want to make this very clear from the get-go.
No, I will not accept multiple installment payments. I must receive the
payment in full all at once, and only will ship to the states, sorry
Canadian residents. The $200 does include shipping. If you are an IPhone
Newby, I even can have it set when you get it for Voiceover already to be
enabled, although it's easy enough to do yourself. I know this list is
for
Mac users, however, upon request, I will even for an additional dollar,
bringing your total to $201.00, just to cover the cost of the blank
media,
burn you a copy of the ITunes installer for windows and will include the
disc in a neatly braille labeled sleeve. Please note that this IPhone is
locked, and only will work on the AT&T network. It will not work on
Verizon,
Sprint, or any of the like.

Please contact me off list if interested. I accept check, money order, or
      preferably PayPal.

Please do not make any payment until you and I first discuss the sale, as
I
need to be sure you know what e-mail address to PayPal the money to for
one
thing. Plus, I'll need to get the address you'd like it shipped.

You may contact me off list at:

      [email protected]

Yes, I understand that isn't the e-mail address I'm writing you all from
right now. that is my personal/work address I just gave you above, which
I
      use for non-list matters.

Also, you may call me at:

      704-256-0067, extension 401.

Thank you kindly, and have yourself a delightful day.

      Chris.

Hello all. Thank you for all the suggestions and congratulations on the
Mac. I am not giving up windows or anything like that. In fact because I do
access training of technology is best to know a little bit about all different
types of systems. This way I can best meet needs of clients we need specific
types of training. There are commonalities between each operating system, like
copy cut paste editing and the like. However each has any qualities which might
be suited better for one type of person compared to another. This is my main
reason for joining the Mac community.

You could always put Windows on your new Mac virtually and then you'd
have one less computer but have two computers in the one box.

      Teresa Cochran <[email protected]> Apr 07 12:27PM -0700

      Hi, Raul,

LOL Have fun with the Mac. I had a lot of fun learning a new OS and
screen-reader from scratch. I got my Mac Mini almost exactly three years ago,
and I was like a kid with a new birthday toy. I found it easy enough that I
began downloading software the day after I had it up and running. There was the
time early on when I blanked out on the keystroke for getting to the menus, but
I tried VO-m out of the blue and it worked. It's quite intuitive that way. :)

      Enjoy,
      Teresa

     VM Fusion and Windows 7
      Angus MacKinnon <[email protected]> Apr 07 01:06PM -0700

For a while now I had a dual boot between Mountain Lion and Windows 7. I
split my 256GB HDD into two partitions. A 128GB Partition for Windows 7
and a 128 GB partition for Mountain Lion. I recently bought VM Fusion 5
Pro. Ho can I add the Windows 7 128GB partition to VM Fusion 5 Pro? Step
by step instructions please? Thank you for the help.

      Hi there folks,

Someone will be giving me the sores code to an application written in C
sharp for Windows, which I need for keeping time in chess games. How would I go
about compiling this software for the Mac?

I believe it would be easier to discuss this using Skype, if you don't
mind.

Typing all the information you require would be difficult for me, due to
only having one usable hand.
