Yes, keep using it. Depending on where you live, there may be a local store that services Macs. In addition to the Apple Store in my area, for example, there is one computer repair service called Mac Clinic.
Also, Apple offers some flat-fee service plans for common problems, such as hard-drive replacements, etc. I don't know how many parts are replaceable in your machine, but this might help as well.
